Conservation Commission Vacancies:

Do you love the unique natural beauty of Shutesbury?  Would you like to help the town protect and nurture it?  The Shutesbury Conservation Commission (ConCom) currently has two vacancies and is actively seeking interested community members to fill them.  The ConCom is a group of volunteers responsible for protecting the town's natural resources.  Through one to two monthly Thursday evening meetings and site visits all over town, the ConCom administers the Massachusetts Wetland Protection Act and the town's Wetlands Bylaw, and manages town conservation land.  If you think this type of work might be for you, please contact the Conservation Clerk, Linda Avis Scott, at 413 259-3792, or, and arrange to attend a meeting to see first hand what the ConCom work is all about.

Web/Communication committee:

The Web/Communication committee is looking for 1 - 3 volunteers who have an interest in or experience with online technology to help support and plan for Shutesbury's online communication.  In the short term this means helping with our town website. In the medium term it means being involved in planning for the town's use of web, mail, email, security, etc. Thoughtful non-techies are just as welcome as technical experts.  Send email to: if you want more information.
