Upcoming Recreation Committee Events
STITCH INS AT TOWN HALL
Whether you knit, crochet, darn, needlepoint, embroidery or any other type of stitching, please join us at Town Hall from 9-11 on the following Sundays:
- October 12
- October 26
- November 9
- November 23
There will be more dates throughout the winter and into the spring. We look forward to meeting in our new library as soon as it is open!
SHUTESBURY GEOLOGY
On November 1 from 10-12 we will be offering an outing to introduce us to the geology of Shutesbury presented by Dr. Al Werner and Dr. Stevie Dunn, both Professor Emeritus at Mount Holyoke College.
Dr. Werner is a specialist in glacial geology, environmental geology, and climate change as well as a groundwater geologist. He will cover glacial history and groundwater.
Dr. Dunn is a specialist on the processes that affect rocks and minerals during metamorphic events (for example, when continents collide). He will cover the rocks/geologic history.
Attendance is limited to 16 people. To sign up, send the names of people in your group to Recreation@Shutesbury.org. The outing will include two stops. Depending on the number of cars and the parking availability, we may plan to meet behind Town Hall early in order to arrange car pooling.
Details will be sent out closer to the date. Rain date will be November 2.
SHOOTSBURY SOCCER CLUB
The Shootsbury Soccer Club is into its second year! This fun and casual soccer meet-up is open to children ages 3 to 10 and takes place every Sunday from 9-10 AM at the Shutesbury Elementary School.
This is a fantastic opportunity for children and families to get active, enjoy the outdoors, and meet new friends in our community. Best of all, it is completely free and no registration is required.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at recreation@shutesbury.org.
The Recreation Committee purpose:
